1. About Us

PhotoRevive is operated by 1583174 B.C. LTD., a company incorporated under the laws of British Columbia, Canada. References to "PhotoRevive", "we", "our", or "us" in these Terms refer to 1583174 B.C. LTD.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PhotoRevive ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

3. Description of Service

PhotoRevive is a photo restoration service that repairs, sharpens, colourises and enlarges a photograph you upload. The Service includes:

  • Four treatments, applied singly or as a chain (requires credits)
  • Repair of physical damage, face restoration, colourisation and enlargement
  • Download of finished photographs as full-resolution JPG files
  • A library of the restorations you have produced

Treatments always run in a fixed order. Each step works on the output of the step before it, and each is charged separately as it completes.

4. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information
  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

5. Credits and Payments

Certain AI-powered features require credits. Credits can be purchased through the Service:

  • 1 credit = $1 USD
  • Credits are non-refundable once purchased
  • Credits do not expire
  • Credit costs for features are displayed before use

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Share your account with others

7. User Content

You retain ownership of the photographs you upload, and you own the restored versions the Service produces for you. You may use them commercially. By using the Service, you grant us a licence to use your submitted content solely to:

  • Operate the Service and run the image model on your behalf
  • Store your uploads and results so they remain in your library
  • Create aggregated, anonymised analytics (no personal data or images shared)

You must have the right to upload every photograph you submit. Owning a print is not the same as owning its copyright: a studio portrait, a school photograph or a wedding photograph is usually still the photographer's, and making a derivative work from it may need their permission. Family snapshots are generally yours. Do not upload photographs of other people in ways they would object to.

8. AI-Generated Images and Reconstruction

Restorations are produced by machine learning models. Output varies with the photograph you provide and is not guaranteed. In particular:

  • Faces are held close to the original, but results are not pixel-exact reproductions of the print
  • Fine detail — jewellery, patterned fabric, text, distant faces — may be altered
  • Results are not deterministic: the same scan can produce different output
  • A poor scan produces a poor restoration

Where information is gone from the print, what comes back is a reconstruction, not a recovery. Repair rebuilds damaged areas from what surrounds them, and colourisation invents colour that was never recorded. Both are plausible rather than true. A restored photograph is evidence of what the model produced, not of what the scene looked like, and it should not be relied on where that distinction matters — identity documents, legal or forensic use, or historical record.

You agree not to use the Service to misrepresent a person or an event, or to present a restored photograph as an unaltered original where doing so would mislead.

Credits are consumed when a run completes, including runs whose output you decide not to use. Runs that fail or are cancelled are not charged.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Generated renders will be accurate or suitable for your needs
  • Results from following AI recommendations are guaranteed
